Landscape Inscribed centres around the representation of a unique landscape that characterizes much of Arabia, both spatially and conceptually (or culturally). Landscape is hardly ever pristine anymore, and even the most remote desert landscapes of this region connect us through subtle traces to a history of their human past, while contemporary landscapes boldly redefine the idea of nature. Landscape Inscribed depicts landscapes affected by human activity, speaking to the complex relationship of the natural to the built environment and to the mysteries revealed in the traces of the landscape’s cultural memory.
